We will be producing another S2KUK Calendar this year, so get your pictures or cameras out, submit your photo entries via email!  Please READ amd FOLLOW the rules and instructions - ESPECIALLY the first one!

RULES AND REGULATIONS

We all want to see great shots of the S2000, so we have high standards for submissions.

• Photos need to meet a minimum resolution for print purposes. That minimum is "high resolution" - at least 150 dpi, in tif, png, jpg formats. As a guide, photos should generally be AT LEAST 4-5 MB in size or more.
• You CAN obscure license plates if you wish.
• Photos need to be cropped "loose" this is to avoid having some great submissions that we can’t use because the image was already cropped too tight to the S2000.
• Try and leave some space around the S2000 so the image can be cropped to fit the calendar. 
• No watermarks allowed.
• NO NUDITY - images must be work and family safe.
• ONE ENTRY ONLY per person (so choose wisely) You may if you wish supercede your entry as many times as you want.
• The photo could have been taken BY YOU any time.

How to make a submission

• When you have a photo to submit, rename it with the following format:  "Real_Name.jpg" (YOUR NAME not actually Real_Name.jpg!)
• Email them to: calendar@s2kuk.com
• Photos have to be emailed for entry. This is your tacit consent that they can be used in the calendar, and on the S2KUK website.
• Submissions not following the criteria above will be rejected without notice so please follow the instructions! 

Submission deadline 30TH SEPTEMBER 2016 at 23:59 SO GET ENTERING! Submissions will then be put on the S2KUK website for voting.

Remember, submissions need to be EMAILED.   If they are not emailed, they are not entered.

TIPS

• Photos shouldn't just be "driveway" shots, no hose and bucket in the background. You need to be creative, artistic, and unique! At least find a scenic spot to take the pic!
• Lots of people take the ubiquitous 1/4 front or 1/4 rear view, and we can only have so many similar poses in a calendar, so taking the time to do something different and interesting will count toward the submissions.
• The calendar is not for profit, and stresses the love we have for our cars. 

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT COPYRIGHT

By entering this calendar competition you are giving licence to S2KUK (UK S2000 Owners Club) to use your image for publication in the calendar and on the S2KUK website.  

IF YOU DO NOT OWN COPYRIGHT of the image - that is if YOU did not take the photograph it will not qualify for the competition. 

DO NOT ENTER WITH A PHOTO YOU DID NOT TAKE, as it can have serious consequences if it is published. 

By entering a photo to the competition you are agreeing to indemnify UK S2000 Owners Club against any action regarding copyright should you have entered a photo of which you do not own copyright.

A new first for the club this year – we were invited to display our cars at this large annual classic car show. Normally restricted to cars over 20 years old, the exception is for car clubs and it was great that our S2000’s are now seriously considered to be modern classics.

The weather was kind to us and we were on site early to set up a stand with 12 cars, which was a great attendance for the first time at this show. This included a rare Mugen example and one of the GT100s.

The show was hosted by Mike Brewer from Wheeler Dealers (Edd was on his holidays) and although this year we were unable to get one of the S2000’s in the display arena, we are promised that this will happen next year if we attend. It would be interesting to hear what Mike might have to say about them following his recent experiences with the S.

There were over over 1800 cars on display, ranging from rare Aston Martins, huge American saloons to the more humble cars that some of us would have driven around in the 1970s and 80s. (or at least were driven by our parents).

Sadly the event was marred by a serious illness in the crowd which put things on hold for a while.  This resulted in an unscheduled visit from the Surrey Air Ambulance helicopter. We hope the person was OK but it proved to be an impressive display of the responsiveness and professionalism of our emergency services.

Throughout the day we were approached by people asking not whether they should buy an S2000, but which model year they should get when they do.! Some of us had to brush up our knowledge on the different changes for each face lift so we could speak with some authority on the subject. We even found some owners who didn’t know about the club and are now keen to, or have joined.

A big thank you to everyone who took part. Everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy the day and the feedback suggests we’d want to do this again next year. Who knows, we may even end up having a club presence when our cars really are 20 years old! (That's only 3 years away!)

We are delighted that we have been successful in our application for an exclusive club stand at CarFest South 2016, A dream of cars, music, food and masses of family fun - a dream conjured up by Chris Evans and brought to life in Hampshire.

CarFest South is from 26th August to 28th August at Laverstoke Park Farm, Berkshire.

Do you want to show your car on our EXCLUSIVE STAND?

HERE'S THE DEAL:

• To display your car AND including 2 entry to Carfest all weekend (via wristbands given out each day at the event), will be only £250 per car for the whole weekend.
• The same thing (which is sold out!) direct from CarFest without being able to show your car on our stand is over £300

This is an absolute bargain! It doesn't cover the club's costs, but we are subsidising this event, and there are a few requirements of display cars which does reduce flexibility (but talk to us, there may be some let up!):

They would prefer cars to arrive on the stand on the Thursday, and stay there until the Sunday 6pm. (There was flexibility last year, some cars came in and out daily, or if you camp on site, there are 24hr security patrols). Some went first thing Friday, but they do want cars to be parked up and all in before about 8am otherwise traffic is mayhem!
